Phuket is an island on the southwest side of Thailand in the Andaman Sea (which is in the Indian Ocean) lying between 7' 45" and 8' 15" north latitude and from 98' 15" to 98' 40" west longitude. It is only 48 kilometres from south to north and 21 kilometres from east to west. This makes it easy for getting around and to see the entire island in 1 day if you so wish. We can supply you with a map to navigate around on your own or organise a full day or half day tour with our local driver.
Going from Sansuko Ville Bungalows to Phuket Town only takes only a few minutes and the hussle and bussle of Patong takes around 20 minutes. Within less than an hour you can reach just about any point on the island! The main roads in Phuket are generally in good condition. You can find road signs in both English and Thai.

Coconuts can be a problem, especially if one comes crashing onto your roof or hits you on the head!
Local people for generations have trained Gibbons to help them remove the coconuts which are then sold for their delicious milk and soft flesh, one of the most hygienic sources of liquid nouishment known to man. Coconut yoghurt is especially delicious.
These monkeys are typically very well treated as one of the family. These are not to be confused with the Gibbons that used to be used by bars and abused. You can see working monkeys all over the island and there are even special shows where you can watch them being trained.
This festival takes place on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month when the water level is high and the climate is cooler. Participants ask water spirits to sail away their troubles in their krathongs, which are containers traditionally made from banana leaves and carrying offerings of incense, lotus flowers and small money.
The picture above was taken at Chalong Bay last year which is one of the major sites for letting your Krathong (and all your troubles) go. Its a few minutes from our bungalows.
The Chalong Krathong festival is one of the biggest events in the islands Thai calendar and features talent and beauty pageants and lots of traditional Thai music.
The benefits of Thai massage are well known. we have a massage area and can arrange for a masseuse to come on site.
No other area on the island offers you such a diversity of photo opportunities and marvelous memories. We have two beautiful bays within walking distance and some of the most stunning secluded beaches just as close.
You can dine on the beach under the palms to the sound of the sea for a fraction of the cost of the more developed resorts and we guarantee you the seafood will be fresher as this is where it is all landed, every day. The restaurants on this side of the island famously get the best of the catch and what is left goes to the big hotels.
By staying with us you are at the heart of the yachting and sailing community who steer well clear of the east coast. Our coast contains the lagoons and bays that the boats require. Phuket is one of the worlds top yachting centers and the Kings Cup each December is a seriously prestigious event, attracting racers from all over the world. The ACYC regatta (usually in September) is also gaining popularity and is seen a the competitive sailors regatta.
The local fishing trade is centered a few minutes walk from our bungalows and is well worth a visit to see the local boats and of course their delicious produce which you bring back and cook for us!
Phuket is one of the worlds top 5 dive sites and rightly so. The waters surrounding the islands here are teeming with a huge variety of fish, even the graceful whale sharks appear regularly. One can learn to dive at any number of schools on the island, many located right next to us in Chalong Bay.
Most companies offer a one day diving introduction course to find out if you like it or not. If you do you can get the basic divers license by doing a two day course.
The island has a mature and vibrant diving community and for those advanced divers, every other course you can think of is also available from a variety of globally recognised codes including BSAC. You can also book trips to The Similan Islands and liveaboard trips to other destinations too.
